Saving Us

The
emotion bled
from your
texts,
so
I fashioned mine
into an IV,
drip
drip
dripping electrolytes and saline
into every
sterile response,
a
desperate attempt
to keep us
alive. I
still don’t quite know
the
reason why
on a
random Tuesday
night,
